Other Privacy Rights
Please carefully review this information and the helpful FAQs below before you make your request, as they may answer a question you have.
First, we want to make sure you understand your privacy rights in the context of our company. If you haven’t already, please review our Privacy Policy.
When you make privacy requests to Vericast, those requests apply to the Personal Information that we process as a Business (aka a Controller). We also process Personal Information as a Service Provider (aka a Processor) for our clients. For example, if we have your Personal Information because you shared it directly with us or because it is in a dataset we purchased or licensed, your request will cover that. But if we have your Personal Information because a client gave it to us to process, you have to make your request directly to that client, rather than to us.
Much of the Personal Information that we obtain and process for our Solutions is governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and is exempt from consumer rights requests. That includes, for example, Personal Information obtained and processed for orders placed on our check websites.
FAQ:
Why do I have to provide Personal Information to make my privacy request? We need certain information from you to verify your identity, locate you in our records, and/or communicate with you, but all solely for processing your privacy request. We don’t use the information you provide below for any other purpose. Please read this Policy it in its entirety to make sure you don’t miss anything. If needed, you can click through to specific sections using the links provided to the left. We have also organized this Policy according to the Solutions that we provide, so you can better understand our practices and your rights.
When will I hear back regarding my request? We strive to answer all requests within 45 days or less as required by various state laws, but because of those laws, we may have to prioritize requests from consumers in those states. We appreciate your patience.
What if I want to submit a request on someone’s behalf? You can do so if you’re 18 or older, but we’ll need to verify the identity of the person on whose behalf you are making the request. That means you’ll need to provide their information (not yours), and let us know your name, too, as the “authorized agent.” If the requests you make include the right to know categories, specific information, or the right to correct, we’ll also ask you for signed proof of authorization before we release any information to you or change our records.
Please note that, currently, Vericast accepts privacy requests only where recognized by an applicable state data-privacy law such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, or similar applicable privacy law. If your request is not recognized by an applicable data-privacy law, we will not honor it at this time.
