Harland Clarke Offers Discounted Checks to AARP Members

New Check Program Extends 20 Percent Discount to AARP Members

SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 6, 2017) — Harland Clarke announced today it has entered into a relationship with AARP to offer the nearly 38 million AARP members a 20 percent discount off the standard price of American Bank Checks, Harland Clarke’s direct to consumer check brand.

“As an advocate for the independence and quality of life for people 50 and older, we are always looking for opportunities to deliver more value and benefits to our membership,” said John Larew, SVP Branded Products, AARP Services Inc. “This program makes it easier and more affordable for members to purchase checks. By aligning with a provider like Harland Clarke, we are confident our members will experience strong customer service, quality and reliability.”

A large volume of checks are still being written in the United States today, as they remain a convenient and secure method for paying bills, sending money to relatives or paying for goods and services. American Bank Checks include a wide range of personal and business checks, forms and accessories such as deposit tickets, check registers, address labels and check book covers.

As part of the program, AARP members have the added option of ordering Harland Clarke’s high security checks, which include more than 29 counterfeit-evident security attributes. While all checks feature preventative measures to guard against fraud, the high security checks incorporate even more protective components, including heat-sensitive inks, foil holograms and multi-colored prismatic backgrounds, to help prevent consumers from becoming check fraud victims.

“Harland Clarke is excited to offer AARP members a quality, discounted check program,” said Don Dolan, President, Retail Channels, Harland Clarke. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to extend to them this new benefit, providing a variety of check options and designs to accommodate their diverse needs.”

AARP members who are interested in taking advantage of this new benefit can safely and securely order checks at or call American Bank Checks at 855.324.3362.
